Pay for how often we test your backups.

Every paid plan backs up hourly, loads each database into a throwaway database when it tests it, and covers as many databases, file trees, mailboxes and team members as you have. The plans differ in how often SafeGrd tests your backups, how much locked storage we host for you, how much of that testing SafeGrd’s own machines run for you, and what the Scale plan hands your auditor. Hosted storage is the only thing we meter. Your own bucket is never metered.

The free plan protects one surface: encrypted, locked where your bucket supports it, and with alerts. It runs a Fire Drill once a month, in memory, which checks the backup’s digests and counts without loading it into a database. Every new account starts with 14 days of Growth, with 50 GB of drills on SafeGrd, so you see a full drill before you pay anything.

Free, $0, for as long as you want. 1 surface, 1 GB of locked hosted storage, kept 7 days, or your own bucket, encrypted on your host, with alerts. A restore is at most 1 day old. Fire Drills: Monthly, in memory, each with a signed record. SafeGrd drills or takes 2 GB of backups for you in any 30 days, 1 at a time. No support.

Need more than Scale?

For regulated teams and large estates, we agree the limits and the terms with you.

Higher limits

More hosted storage, backups more often than hourly, drills more often than daily, and more surfaces than a single organization registers on its own.

Procurement and audit

Monthly or annual invoicing, a data processing agreement, answers to your security questionnaire, and evidence packs shaped to the controls your auditor asks about.

Support you can call on

A named contact, agreed response times, and help running a restore during an incident.

What you need next

Tell us what your team needs that SafeGrd does not do yet. Features for larger teams are built with the customers who ask for them. A database or platform it does not back up yet: request a surface.

What a drill looks like

Each drill is recorded in the console.

On a paid plan the daemon restores your newest backup at the plan's cadence and records the result. This is the Fire Drills tab of a demo organization.

The Fire Drills tab: the drill record, then each surface's last verified drill, recovery point and restore time. The Fire Drills tab: the drill record, then each surface's last verified drill, recovery point and restore time.
The drill record, and for each surface when it was last verified, its recovery point and its restore time.

What happens when my free trial ends?

You keep the free plan. Every surface you protect keeps backing up, locked, with a drill each month in memory. You can add no surface beyond the first.

What is a surface?

One thing SafeGrd backs up: a database, a directory tree or a mailbox. Paid plans do not count them. See Surfaces.

What is hosted storage?

A locked bucket SafeGrd runs, so you need no S3 account. Each backup is encrypted on your host before it is sent. Your own bucket works instead and is never metered. See Storage.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 30 days of a charge. The refund policy has the details.
